Linked to the slalom areas is a fantastic system of trails for both amateurs and professionals. More than thirty miles of trails on protected mountain forest terrain are prepared each day. The trails at Vemdalen, Vemdalsskalet and Klövsjö also offer electric lighting.
For those who enjoy taking a tour, there is a marked and easily accessible trail system on the mountain. Cosy huts selling waffles as well as huts to take a break in can be found along the way.
Our scooter trail right outside Gästis takes you further up the mountain, where a wide-ranging network of trails awaits you. Several scooter rental companies can be found in the area.
There is a well-developed network of paths in the area, with cabins to shelter in should the weather require it. We can give you tips about great trips to take and the best locations to find the famous wild Swedish strawberries, smultron.
This beloved day-trip destination was a working shieling not so long ago. There is a wonderful resting place here down near the falls.

Craving a bit of adventure? Then take the car to Nyvallen shieling and use that as a base to climb the peak of Sonfjället. If climbing is not for you, simply taking in the atmosphere of a working shieling and walking in the national park will prove to be a memorable experience.
We have two golf courses within a 15-minute drive: Klövsjö/Vemdalen’s 18-hole Golf Club in a beautiful mountainous setting and Sonfjället’s 18-hole parkland Golf Club along the Ljusnan river. There are also three other golf courses within an hour’s drive.
Hiking up to the magnificent Fettjeåfallet waterfall is both exciting and inspiring. If you want to take a shorter walk and enjoy a smaller waterfall, there is also the lovely Sångbäcksfallet (pictured). Read more at www.vemdalen.se.
